February 25 is a special working day and is not excluded. Check later proclamations and local or court-specific issuances.

To compute an ordinary calendar-day period under Rule 22, exclude the triggering day, count the required days, and include the last day. If that last day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or applicable legal holiday, move to the next working day. The free calculator below performs that arithmetic for a user-selected period.

Before entering a receipt date, identify the rule that makes that date legally relevant. Personal receipt, email transmission, postal service, and an electronic court record can raise different service questions. The calculator does not decide whether service was valid or select the proper remedy.

How to use the free calculator

Intermediate weekends and holidays remain in a calendar-day count. The next-working-day adjustment is applied to the final day. Do not choose a business-day period and enter it as calendar days.

  • •Enter the triggering date supported by your service evidence.
  • •Enter the period prescribed by the applicable rule or order in calendar days.
  • •Review the included 2026 holidays and add applicable local non-working dates.
  • •Compute the nominal last day and read every adjustment shown.
  • •Have the handling lawyer confirm the trigger, rule, exceptions, and final filing plan.

Worked examples

These examples illustrate counting only. They do not establish a 15-day entitlement for any particular pleading, and an added local holiday can change the result.

Trigger and periodNominal last dayResult under stated assumptions
October 5, 2026 + 15 calendar daysOctober 20, 2026October 20, if no applicable local holiday or special rule
October 10, 2026 + 15 calendar daysOctober 25, 2026 (Sunday)October 26, if a working day in the relevant place
November 15, 2026 + 15 calendar daysNovember 30, 2026 (Bonifacio Day)December 1, if a working day in the relevant place

What the holiday base includes

The tool includes dates in Proclamation No. 1006 for 2026 and the separately declared 2026 Eid holidays. It does not treat February 25, a special working day, as a non-working holiday. The base is a dated reference, not a live feed of every proclamation or court suspension.

When manual legal analysis is required

Stop and review the governing rule when the period is interrupted, a motion affects the appeal period, the order prescribes a specific date, or a special proceeding has its own counting rule. A fresh-period calculation is not simply the unused balance of the original period.

A work suspension also requires reading the actual issuance. Do not assume every weather advisory or office closure has the same effect on filing. If the result crosses into a year without holiday coverage, the tool withholds an adjusted date rather than presenting an incomplete calendar as complete.

  • •Keep the envelope, email headers, acknowledgment, or portal record establishing the trigger.
  • •Record the exact provision and period used.
  • •Keep the original result and the reason for a later change.
  • •Set an internal completion target before the legal deadline.
  • •Use a second-person review for material filings.

Frequently asked questions

Do I skip all holidays when counting a reglementary period?

For an ordinary calendar-day period, intermediate holidays are counted. Rule 22 adjusts the final day when it falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or applicable legal holiday.

Does this tool determine the correct appeal deadline?

It computes dates from your inputs. A lawyer must identify the remedy, period, legally effective service date, and any special rules or interruptions.
